Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a chronic, often debilitating, disease. MS affects the central nervous system, which includes the brain, spinal cord and nerves.
It is estimated that Multiple Sclerosis affects more than 2.5 million people worldwide. MS is the most common neurological disease among young adults, particularly women. The exact cause of Multiple Sclerosis is unknown; however, the last 5 years have produced encouraging advances in both diagnosis and treatment of this disease.
OTN Specialty Services is dedicated to making your course of treatment as easy as possible. We created the Patient Information Center to help make you an informed patient.
Living with MS
The mission of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society is to end the devastating effects of MS. Founded in 1946, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society supports more MS research, offers more services for people with Multiple Sclerosis, provides more professional education programs, and furthers more MS advocacy efforts than any other MS organization in the world. The materials provided on the National Multiple Sclerosis Society's website are for people who live with MS, including those with a recent diagnosis and those who have been living with MS for some time. Our Medical Advisory Board recommends the following content from the National Multiple Sclerosis Society's website.
