Sucraid® (sacrosidase) oral solution is an enzyme replacement therapy for the treatment of the genetically determined sucrase deficiency. This is part of congenital sucrase-isomaltase deficiency (CSID). Sucraid® is a pale yellow, clear solution with a pleasant and sweet taste.
Sucraid® has been used in clinical trials to treat a total of 52 patients, some as young as four months of age up to 54 months. Only one patient experienced a serious reaction; hypersensitivity (wheezing).
This event resolved with no sequelae. The most frequent adverse reactions reported while taking Sucraid® were abdominal pain (8%) and vomiting (6%). |
