Sucraid® (sacrosidase) oral solution is an enzyme replacement therapy for the treatment of the genetically determined sucrase deficiency. This is part of congenital sucrase-isomaltase deficiency (CSID). Sucraid® is a pale yellow, clear solution with a pleasant and sweet taste.

  • Allows patients to enjoy a normal sucrose-containing diet by reducing or eliminating severe gastrointestinal symptoms

  • Generally well tolerated:
    Most frequent events were abdominal pain (8%) and vomiting (6%). One patient (2%) who was asthmatic experienced a serious reaction of hypersensitivity (wheezing), which resolved.

Sucraid® has been used in clinical trials to treat a total of 52 patients, some as young as four months of age up to 54 months. Only one patient experienced a serious reaction; hypersensitivity (wheezing).

This event resolved with no sequelae. The most frequent adverse reactions reported while taking Sucraid® were abdominal pain (8%) and vomiting (6%).
